A concerned member of the All Progressives Congress, (APC), Auwal Nuhu, has said that Kaduna State Governor Nasir el-Rufa’i is a political liability to the Party.

The Party member, in an open open letter written to the
APC National Chairman, said, amongst others that “Nasirs penchant for reputation savaging is almost pathological”.
Nuhu said, “I recognised his weaknesses; the worst being his inability to be loyal to anybody or any issue consistently for long, but only to Nasir el-Rufa’i.
According to him, “The character and personality that is ruling Kaduna has adversely affected the fortunes of the State”.
He critised some key decisions taken by el-Rufa’i’s overnment, which the Governor said had each gone through a rigorous debate at the State’s Executive Council, to include: The senseless and very inhuman demolitions that has rendered millions of families homeless, with many small-scale businesses going bankrupt.
Others include: “the cruel and brutal retrenchment that has shattered the lives of many families. School fees increment across all the tertiary institutions in the State, with about 1,000%, in which 70% of the students are unable to pay.
“A deliberate State policy of patronising consultants and contractors from the South-West at the expense of local contractors, who have now gone bankrupt as well as the total alienation of APC stakeholders, party men and women and dependable supporters”.
He cited the composition of the State Executive Council members, which he said revealed why so many anti-people, draconian, senseless policies are daily churned out by the el-Rufa’i administration.
He said, “The Governor’s PPS, Salisu Suleiman, is from Nasarawa State. Jimi Lawal, the senior counselor, who is virtually in charge of almost everything in Kaduna State, is from Ogun State; Muyiwa Adekeye is from Lagos State; Martins Akumazi; the Special Adviser on Projects Implementation and Result Delivery is from the South-East; the Special Adviser on Conflict Resolution, Dr. Ayo Adedokun, is from the South-West; the Special Adviser on Programme Monitoring and Evaluation, Mary Olarerin, is from tge South-West; the Special Adviser on Research and Documentation, Oghenemard Edigheji; in addition to the Commissioners of Justice, Housing, Human development and Health, who are all from Katsina, Lagos,Borno and Bauchi respectively.
He wondered which State will condone and allow the total take over of its sensitive positions, brought from elsewhere, asking: “Can this be tolerated in Enugu,Bayelsa or Ondo?
He lamented that as a result of el-Rufa’i’s actions, “the career civil servants protocol officers he met on ground, became redundant!
These are people who know nothing about APC and the promise it made to the people of Kaduna State.
He further alleged that the Governor is currently in a fierce battle with the Nigerian Labour Congress, (NLC) over his insistence on dismissing over 50% of the state’s workforce. Recall that over 30,000 people have already lost their source of livelihood since he became governor. “His argument is that the State’s workforce is over-bloated amidst scarce resources”.
He lamented that the capital flight from Kaduna State has impoverished the people, adding that “even those in government are left in ruins”.
“I don’t see how the APC will field a candidate whose hand el-Rufa’i will raise and win in the coming elections. Especially not with the arrogant and ill-informed outburst of a successor doing more demolitions in a State that had yet to recover from his inhumane pursue of master plan restoration.
“I don’t see APC occupying Kashm Ibrahim House beyond May 29th 2023, except there is a divine intervention”, saying Gov. el-Rufa’i is deliberately ensuring that he is the last APC Governor in the State.
It is my considered opinion that the APC should begin to realize that it is almost an end game for the party in Kaduna State”, he further stated.
